T-Mobile targets November launch for HSDPA

T-Mobile Austria will begin offering HSDPA-capable data cards from next month, enabling customers to browse the web with download speeds of up to 1.8Mbps. From 2007 it plans to up the data transmission limit to 3.6Mbps – roughly ten times the 384kbps currently offered by UMTS technology. T-Mobile Austria says it is already conducting HSDPA field trials and in the first stage of its commercial launch plans to cover Vienna’s inner city districts with the new technology.
