UOL to hold IPO

According to reports in local paper Valor Economico, Brazilian ISP UOL, which is owned by Portugal Telecom and media group Grupo Folha, has registered with the local securities commission to float its shares on the Sao Paulo stock exchange. UOL provides internet services in around 3,000 localities in Brazil, and claims around 1.4 million customers.
