TIM has teamed up with local broadcaster Mediaset to begin trials of the services which will transmit DVB-H services to compatible 3G handsets. The cellco will offer content from Canale 5, Retequattro and Italia Uno, and expects to begin selling the DVB-H-enabled phones next year. Earlier this month Italian public broadcaster RAI launched trials of Italy’s first dedicated mobile TV channel in partnership with UMTS cellco H3G Italia.
