Pannon GSM launches 3G

12 Oct 2005

Hungarian cellco Pannon GSM has rolled out commercial 3G services, less than twelve months after being awarded its 3G licence. The cellco is offering free video calls to customers until the end of this year as an incentive to sign up. The 3G network is currently available in the central districts of Budapest, and the operator hopes to cover the majority of the capital by the end of the year. Population coverage currently stands at 50%.
