Celtel Kenya has reported two million mobile customers, having doubled its customer base in 18 months. The cellco, which re-launched its operations last year after buying into rival cellco Kencell when it bought out Vivendi, said it believes there are around five million more potential customers and hopes to attract many of these to its network over the next few years. Celtel’s main rival Safaricom recently announced that it had hit three million subscribers.
