South Africa’s Allied Technologies (Altech) and mobile network operator Vodacom have agreed a five-year extension of a service provider agreement with Altech’s wholly owned subsidiary Autopage Cellular. Autopage sells contracts and airtime for all three of the country’s cellular operators, MTN, Vodacom and Cell C, and in July this year said it plans to enter the market as a mobile virtual network operator (MVNO). Financial terms of the deal were not released, but a statement said the extension would be for at least five years with an option for a further five years.
