Siemens and Ericsson bag Polish 3G deal

Siemens and Ericsson have won orders from Polska Telefonia Cyfrowa (PTC) to extend the carrier’s UMTS network to additional Polish cities. Siemens will supply and deploy equipment for the cities of Poznan, Wroclaw and Lublin, having already rolled core network equipment to the Warsaw region. Ericsson, meanwhile, will cover the cities of Krakow, Katowice, Lodz, Gdansk, Torun, Bydgoszcz and Szczecin. Network build will begin immediately and will be completed before end November.
