4 Oct 2005

Italian public broadcaster RAI has launched trials of Italy’s first dedicated mobile TV channel in partnership with UMTS cellco H3G Italia, according to Telecompaper. The channel broadcasts a selection of entertainment, news and children’s programmes taken from RAI’s three terrestrial channels, straight to H3G handsets at a cost of EUR0.9 for five minutes. The trial service will be broadcast 24 hours a day until 15 November, at which point a definitive 16-hour daily schedule will be introduced.
