Vodafone to axe Birmingham call centre

29 Sep 2005

Vodafone has announced that it will be closing one of its UK call centres in February 2006, leading to fears that many of the location’s 650 staff could lose their jobs. Vodafone will close its centre in Birmingham and transfer its business to offices in Warrington and Stoke-on-Trent. ‘These proposals will result in approximately 650 roles being put at risk of redundancy at the site,’ Vodafone said in a statement. ‘It is planned that 500 of the roles will transfer to other Vodafone customer management centres.’
