Operators to link IP networks

Japanese ISP Softbank, the country’s largest provider of VoIP services, has revealed plans to interconnect its IP network with the networks of four of its competitors –NTT Communications, Fusion Communications, NTT-ME and Plala Networks – next month enabling it to offer lower tariffs to its users to JPY8.4 (USD0.07) per three minutes regardless of distance and time of day, compared to JPY11.3 (USD0.099) at present.
