Vodafone to launch new pre-paid service

27 Sep 2005

Vodafone KK has revealed plans to launch a new service to make it easier for customers to buy minutes for their pre-paid phone. The new offering, set to be introduced on 17 October, will enable users to top up their phones via cashpoint machines or internet banking sites, in addition to buying pre-paid cards in a shop or from Vodafone’s website. The cellco’s plan to improve pay-as-you-go services has come about despite concerns voiced by its competitors about fraud over pre-paid handsets; it says it is re-verifying user identification to prevent criminal use.
