O2 ups growth forecast again

27 Sep 2005

Mobile operator O2 has raised its UK growth forecast for the fourth time in 14 months and now expects revenues for the full year ending 31 March 2006 to increase by between 6% and 9% larger year-on-year. O2 upped its prediction on the back of a strong performance in the six months to the end of September 2005, ‘driven both by acquisition of new customers and improved retention of existing customers,’ according to its interim results pre-update statement. The company added: ‘O2 UK’s first half momentum was stronger than expected, and net service revenue growth for the full year is now expected to be in the 6% to 9% range, compared with previous guidance for growth in mid-single digits.’ O2 UK recorded fiscal year growth of 14% in the year ending 31 March 2005.
