Q-Tel teams up with Cisco for IP network development

Qatar Telecom (Q-Tel) has teamed up with Cisco Systems to formulate an integrated strategy to build out the country’s IP infrastructure. Both companies signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) aimed at leveraging greater cooperation towards realising Q-Tel’s strategy of implementing a countrywide broadband infrastructure. The alliance will also help Q-Tel to maximise the benefits of its GPRS and 3G networks, enabling mobility via IP and supporting a host of value added services to its portfolio.
