Mobile operator Movistar Argentina has invested over USD1 million to double the capacity of its fibre-optic transmission network, the company said in a statement. It has installed a fibre-optic ring with five multi-service nodes using SDH technology to provide transmission speeds of up to 10Gbps. It hopes the expansion will prepare it for large-scale future growth in traffic on its mobile network.
