BCN launches fixed line services

21 Sep 2005

Saudi Arabia-based Business Communication Network (BCN) has launched fixed line services in Bahrain, offering customers pre-paid calling cards which enable them to make international calls at 30% – 40% cheaper than those offered by other companies. BCN, which was awarded its licence earlier this year, will compete with incumbent telco Batelco. It also plans to launch an internet service in the country. The Bahraini fixed line telecoms market was opened up to competition on 1 July 2004.
