ZTE plans WiMAX trial in Islamabad

Chinese equipment supplier ZTE Corp has revealed plans to launch a trial WiMAX service in Pakistan’s capital, Islamabad. The company will offer the trial services through local provider Telecard. DSL coverage is extremely limited in Pakistan and this will be the first trial of its kind, according to James Jiang, a director at ZTE’s American R&D centre. The trial is set to begin next month.
