The Consumers’ Association of Ireland (CAI) is investigating Vodafone Ireland over the use of reported strong arm tactics to chase up late-paying customers. The CAI says it has received a number of complaints about alleged intimidation tactics employed by Intrum, the debt collection agency used by the cellco to ensure customers settle their bills. Vodafone denies the claims. ‘We have a very good relationship with Intrum, which is one of the most reputable debt-collection agencies in the country,’ Roisin O’Connell, Vodafone Ireland’s head of corporate communication told The Times.
