Colombia prepares for fixed-wireless broadband auction

According to BNamericas, Colombia’s Ministry of Communications (MOC) has announced details of its upcoming auction of fixed-wireless broadband licences in the 3.5GHz frequency band. The MOC will offer three national licences, each with a spectrum allocation of 42MHz, and two additional 28MHz licences in each region of the country. Only existing fixed line operators will be able to apply for the national licences, whilst other companies will be free to bid for the regional concessions.
