Vodafone Netherlands has signed a memorandum of understanding with Ericsson which could see the Swedish equipment manufacturer take over the day-to-day running of Vodafone’s Dutch wireless networks. Vodafone plans to outsource the rollout, operation and maintenance of its cellular networks to Ericsson. The companies say 170 Vodafone staff would be transferred to Ericsson if the plan goes ahead. According to Telecompaper, the scheme is currently being studied by Vodafone Netherlands’ Works Council.
