Egyptian entrepreneur Naguib Sawris, who acquired Italian telco Wind last month, has revealed plans to transform the operator in a bid to boost investment, rationalise expenditure and prepare it for a stock market flotation. Sawris said he would invest around EUR4 billion into Wind over the next few years, and hopes to improve its customer mix by attracting higher spending customers. Sawris bought Wind from utility company Enel for EUR12.1 billion (USD14.9 billion).
