Lucent nets Netia NGN deal

Lucent Technologies says it has been awarded a contract to deploy a next-generation network (NGN) for Poland’s largest alternative telecoms service provider Netia. Under the terms of the frame contract signed yesterday, Lucent will deliver equipment and services for the construction of the NGN, enabling Netia to begin offering advanced IP Multimedia Subsystem, or IMS-based, voice and multimedia services to business users across the country. No financial details were disclosed.
