Intracom to spin off telecoms services business

Greek IT and Defence conglomerate Intracom has announced plans to spin-off its businesses into three subsidiary companies, and predicts that its IT and telecom services division will become the country’s largest alternative fixed line telco by 2010. Intracom also plans to set up new operating companies for its telecoms equipment and defence electronics businesses. The group was established in 1977 and claims to be the largest Greek multinational IT provider. It offers a broad portfolio of telecoms services to domestic customers as well as wireline and wireless access systems, content delivery platforms, network terminal devices and network management systems to clients in the Balkans and parts of Central and Eastern Europe, the Middle East and North Africa.
