Telecoms sector still growing

31 Aug 2005

Mexican regulator Cofetel has said the country’s telecoms industry expanded by around 21.5% year-on-year in the second quarter of 2005. The growth, which is measured in terms of production from the sector as a whole, has been well ahead of Mexico’s general economic performance. Fixed line penetration in Mexico stood at around 18% by the end of June, while cellular penetration has reached 41%.
