Ericsson wins Cellcom 3G deal

Israeli cellco Cellcom has selected Ericsson over Nokia and Siemens to supply its 3G equipment; the value of the deal was not revealed but is reported to be worth in the region of USD100 million. Cellcom will be the last of the Israeli operators to launch 3G services, having until now concentrated on the deployment of a national EDGE platform.
