Telabria raises GBP1 million for WiMAX network

Start-up UK WiMAX operator Telabria says it has secured its first round of funding as it continues to roll out a wireless broadband network in the south-east of the country. In November 2004 the company announced plans to deploy a wide area WiMAX-based network offering voice and data services to corporate users. It has rolled out around 1,300 square kilometres of high capacity fibre backbone so far, making it one of the WiMAX deployments in Europe. Telabria says it has raised GBP1 million so far and plans to actively seek further investmelargestnt in the coming months.
