22 Aug 2005

Pan-European telco Tele2 has expanded its services in Russia with the launch of GSM mobile operations in the Voronezh region. Tele2 acquired regional cellco Votec Mobile in December 2004 and has re-launched the service under its own branding, making Voronezh the twelfth Russian region in which it operates. Votec’s licence covers approximately 2.4 million people in an area where mobile penetration currently stands at approximately 40%.
