Sri Lanka’s third largest cellular operator Mobitel has announced that it has switched on its 300th GSM base station. The company has taken eighteen months to reach the milestone. Mobitel claims around 13% of Sri Lanka’s 2.2 million cellular subscribers; the market is led by Dialog with a 60% share, while Celltel claims 20% and Hutchison has 7%.
