Clarin buys 25% of Cablevisión

The ownership of Argentine cable and broadband provider Cablevisión has changed after domestic media group Clarin acquired 100% of holding company Vistone, giving it a 50% stake in VLG Argentina, which holds 50% of Cablevisión. Following this transaction, Clarin now owns 25% of Cablevisión’s shares, US-owned Fintech holds 25%, whilst US investment group HMTF owns the other 50%. At the end of June Cablevisión had 1.33 million cable customers, up from 1.25 million a year earlier.
