MMS grows in Norway

12 Aug 2005

Multimedia messaging is showing a rapid increase in popularity in Norway, with mobile phone users sending 35 million messages in the six months to the end of June. Figures collected by the newspaper Aftenposten show that this is almost double the 18 million messages sent in the same period last year. The increase has been attributed partly to discounted introductory offers. The number of SMS messages rose from 1.45 billion to 1.86 billion.
