Tokya offers cheapest broadband

11 Aug 2005

According to a report by Japan’s Ministry of Communications (MoC), Tokyo has offered the cheapest broadband services among the world’s major cities for four years running. The fee for services at speeds of up to 1.5 megabits per second came to 2,650 yen ($34.45 NZD) a month in Tokyo, much less than the 4,059 ($53 NZD) yen the services cost in New York, the second-cheapest city. Other cities in the January survey were London, Paris, Dusseldorf and Geneva.
