Equipment vendor Ericsson has secured a key contract with Greek fixed line operator Vivodi Telecom for the supply of 10,000 ADSL2+ lines. The Swedish company will deliver the initial order this year, with the option to expand the contract to include more ADSL equipment in 2006. Vivodi, which was formed in 2001 and today offers fixed line services to residential and business users, is planning to roll out a broadband network using Ericsson’s Ethernet DSL Access solution. It hopes to deliver triple-play services at speeds of up to 24Mbps. No financial details were disclosed.
