Telefonica launches prepaid WiFi

Fixed line operator Telefonica has launched a prepaid option for its broadband WiFi service, Speedy WiFi. The company said that the new service will initially be available in 500 access points in 40 cities across Sao Paulo state, and will cost BRL9.90 (USD4.25) for 90 minutes. Telefonica currently has around a million broadband users, 600,000 of which are ADSL customers.
