Indosat plans USD1.57 billion expansion

PT Indonesian Satellite Corp (Indosat) has revealed plans to spend USD1.57 billion in the expansion of its operations over the next twelve months. It said it will invest USD900 million by the end of this year and a further USD670 million in 2006 to expand its networks. 85% of the total investment will be channelled into its mobile services. At the end of June 2005 it claimed 12.87 million mobile customers, having added 3.7 million in this first half of the year.
