VSNL agrees to share undersea cables with Bharti

Indian international call carrier VSNL has reached an agreement with Networki2i, a joint venture between Bharti and SingTel, enabling the two to use each other’s undersea cable networks. Tata Group member VSNL owns the 3,175km Tata Indicom India-Singapore Cable connecting Chennai to Singapore, whilst the Networki2i system serves the same route. The deal is intended to protect both operators against network failures.
