RomTelecom sets out EUR500 million network upgrade programme

Romania’s dominant telco RomTelecom has revealed a three-year plan to invest EUR500 million in upgrading its infrastructure. The company has awarded contracts to Alcatel and Ericsson to supply equipment for building a nationwide next generation network (NGN) following an international tender which closed last month. The project will enable RomTelecom to provide customers with high speed internet services, video and audio applications as well as new voice and data services.
