Argentina’s wireless market leader Telefónica Móviles Argentina (Movistar) reported yesterday that it spent ARS220 million (USD77 million) in the first half of this year as part of its ARS450 million investment plan to expand and upgrade its network. It has largely focused on the expansion of its GSM infrastructure, installing 800 base stations in the period to boost capacity and cover new areas. Movistar ended June with 6.731 million subscribers, 44% of which were post-paid customers.
