Telecom Italia snaps up Tiscali fibre-optic network

Pan-European internet service provider Tiscali is selling its fibre-optic network, Tiscali International Network to Telecom Italia for EUR8 million. Tiscali International Network, a subsidiary of the ISP, owns and operates a 15,000km system spanning twelve European countries. The sale, which is subject to the approval of the competition authorities, does not include the disposal of IP and VoIP networks, which will remain under the control of Tiscali International Network.
