T-Mobile starts HSDPA upgrade

Dutch mobile operator T-Mobile Netherlands has begun its rollout of HSDPA technology, which will increase the data transfer speeds on its 3G UMTS network. Telecom.paper reports that the telco is introducing HSDPA in the country’s main cities and aims to have a trial under way before the end of this year. Commercial launch is scheduled for 2006, with network equipment supplied by Nokia and Siemens.
