South Korea’s largest mobile operator, SK Telecom (SKT), has begun providing international roaming services in Vietnam. SKT’s subscribers are now able to use their handsets in 29 cities across the country, with calls routed through the network of local CDMA provider S-Telecom (S-Fone). S-Fone is a 50/50 joint venture between Vietnamese state-run telco Saigon Postel and SLD Telecom, which is owned by SKT (53.8%), and fellow Korean companies LG Electronics (44%) and Dongah Elecomm (2.2%).
