Siemens wins Nepalese GSM contract

Spice Nepal (SNPL) has contracted Siemens to build a nationwide GSM network in the next two and a half years. The value of the agreement is USD29 million and will provide capacity for up to one million subscribers. The cellco plans to launch services by the end of this month in the Katmandu Valley area. Other major cities and regions will be covered gradually.
