Operators ask for C&W to unbundle its network

2 Aug 2005

Panama’s fourteen alternative operators have called for incumbent Cable and Wireless Panama (C&WP) to unbundle its local network, a move which will allow them to rent infrastructure and offer their own services. The fixed line market was opened up to competition in January 2003 but C&WP has been slow to begin the unbundling process. It has asked the regulator to delay the process until it has carried out a detailed analysis of the market.
