Safaricom to spend USD14.5 million on network expansion

Kenyan mobile operator Safaricom is to spend more than KES1.1 billion (USD14.5 million) to expand the provision of mobile services in the west of the country. Safaricom chief commercial officer Peter Arina says the work to integrate 30 new base station transceiver sites in Nyanaza, Western provinces and South Rift Valley areas will begin in September.
