Subs up 16% at Oskar

27 Jul 2005

Czech cellular operator Oskar Mobil saw customer numbers rise 16% to 1.95 million in the first six months of the year, with more than half its customers now signed up to post-paid contracts. Average revenue per user stood at CZK7,723 in the year to the end of June. Oskar, which was acquired by Vodafone of the UK earlier this year, is the Czech Republic’s newest and smallest mobile operator. Larger rival Eurotel has reported that it had 4.42 million at the end of June. The country’s other cellco, T-Mobile, has not yet released end-June customer numbers although it is thought to have recently overtaken Eurotel to gain first place in the market.
