27 Jul 2005

Russian mobile group Mobile TeleSystems (MTS) has consolidated 100% of the shares of its Sverdlovsk regional subsidiary Uraltel. The integration of Uraltel follows the earlier consolidation of eight other wholly owned domestic subsidiaries: Telecom XXI, Kuban-GSM, Digital Network of Udmurtia (DNU-900), Dontelecom, MTS-Barnaul, MTS-Nizhniy Novgorod (MTS-NN), Telecom-900 and Amur Cellular Communication (ACC). MTS is looking to improve the group’s efficiency by simplifying its structure.
