T-Mobile plans HSDPA data launch

22 Jul 2005

T-Mobile Germany is set to begin testing HSDPA-based mobile data services in September this year and aims to launch the technology commercially in March 2006. The cellco has already upgraded sections of its W-CDMA network with HSDPA technology, which provides data speeds of up to 1.8Mbps. The pilot scheme will be aimed at business users in several cities and will be accompanied by HSDPA-ready PC data cards going on sale at T-Mobile’s retail outlets.
