LG to open up new factory in Sao Paulo

South Korean manufacturer LG Electronics is set to open up a new factory in Taubate in Sao Paulo state, which will produce computer monitors and mobile phones. The company has invested BRL141 million (USD60 million) into the facility, and says it will triple its production capacity to 6.5 million mobile phones. LG plans to launch twelve new handsets over the next year, including a 3G model for Brasilcel (Vivo).
