Golden Telecom increasing international capacity

Moscow-based Golden Telecom is upgrading its international network capacity for voice and data services covering the major cities of Russia and the CIS. The work includes the upgrade of the telco’s STM-16 network between Moscow and Stockholm, Sweden and its multi-point STM-1 overseas network. Golden Telecom’s backbone links 227 access points across the CIS and Russia. The upgrade of the STM-16 is already complete and has upped the telco’s aggregate international bandwidth capacity from 3.1Gbps to 5.6Gbps.
