Paraguayan cellco Telecel has had its application for a USD15 million loan approved by the International Finance Corporation. Earlier this month the operator said it planned to invest USD20 million in expanding its GSM and EDGE services this year. Telecel, a subsidiary of Millicom International Cellular, launched its GSM network under the brand name Tigo in 2004. The operator says the latest expansion will triple network capacity and see the introduction of a raft of new multimedia services.
