Deutsche Telekom prepares 25Mbps broadband pilot

Deutsche Telekom’s fixed line division T-Com has scheduled a pilot of ADSL2+ and VDSL-based broadband internet services in Stuttgart and Hamburg to start in September this year. The service will offer ADSL2+ connections with download speeds of up to 16Mbps and maximum upload speeds of 1 Mbps, and VDSL connections providing a maximum download speed of 25Mbps with 5 Mbps upload. T-Com recently introduced a trial broadband service in Hannover, offering downloads at up to 16Mbps, and launched WiMax trials at the end of last month.
