Telstra sacks 90; government wants stake sale

Telstra has made 90 redundancies in the last couple of days, the majority being account executives in the telco’s business and government division as part of a plan to drive efficiency within the company.

Meanwhile prime minister John Howard has said that he is keen to push ahead with the full sale of Telstra, hinting that the process could begin as soon as August.
